Check the Health of the cloudSwXtch Instance on AWS

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this article, users will learn how to monitor VMs’ health on AWS.

It is important to ensure the AWS system is healthy. AWS provides AWS CloudWatch as a way to check on the health of a system. To check on the cloudSwXtch EC2 instance: 

  1. Search for "CloudWatch" in the AWS Search bar.

  2. Select "All Metrics" on the left tree menu under "Metrics."

  3. Select "EC2."

  4. Select "Per-Instance Metrics." 

  5. Sort as desired. Instance ID works well. 

  6. View data in a graph. 

WARNING

A cloudSwXtch instance will consume CPU even when the connected agents are not producing/consuming data. This is because there are several vCPUs configured to constantly watch the interfaces.
