# groundSwXtch System Requirements

## groundSwXtch Sizing Guidelines

## CPUs

CPUs must be an **X64 processor or ARM**, with a minimum of **4 cores**. Recommended: **8 cores or more**.

## Memory

Minimum of **8GB** of RAM**.** Recommended: **16GB** or more.

## Storage space

Minimum **SSD** of **24GB.** Recommended: **40GB** or more.

Note that getting a minimal 4 core machine may be as expensive as going with a NUC swXtch.io has tested with GMKtec M5 Ultra Gaming Mini PC Ryzen 7 7730U.

## Internet Connection

Although installing and upgrading groundSwXtch is easier with an internet connection, users may be able to instantiate groundSwXtch in air-gapped environments. [Contact support](http://swxtch.io/contact) for guidance.

## Firewall and Security Group Rules

The groundSwXtches communicate with each other using the following protocols and ports.

| Protocol | Ports | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| TCP | 65107 | TCP time sync |
| UDP | 319 | UDP for time synchronization (bi-directional) |
| UDP | 320 | UDP for time synchronization (bi-directional) |
| UDP | 6000 | Multicast port can be changed by the user. |
| TCP | 80 | TCP user interface can be changed by the user. |
